 |
|
|
There are two types of bathroom fans at the Renaissance:

Type A
Type B
This page refers to Type B
1) Select the humidity control to the “Off” position as this can make the fan come on at preset times. The humidity control unit is usually located in the first closet near the entry.
2) Make sure the fan switch is also off.
3) Pull firmly down on the fan cover. It will stop within a few inches from the ceiling.
4) Squeeze the two wire tabs together and push them away from their holder. Do the same for the other side.
5) Unplug the power.
6) Unscrew the outer screws. Be careful as the fan is now ready to slide out.
7) Remove fan assembly.
8) Remove the three screws on the cover plate.
9) Remove the cover plate.
10) Clean fan blades with a flat screw driver, toothbrush, or compressed air. If you would like to do a more thorough cleaning follow steps 11 to 14.
11) Insert an allen key into the side of the shaft and loosen slightly.
12) Remove the fan blade from the shaft.
13) Clean the housing. You can see how dirty this one is.
14) This fan drum is about 40-50% plugged which has reduced it’s efficiency by the same. This particular drum caused a condensation leak that presented itself on a living room ceiling.
15) Clean the lint and debris with a flat screw driver, toothbrush, or compressed air. You may also choose to wash it after in the sink or in your dishwasher.
